How does the Managed DRaaS service help you?
Continue with your business with the DRaaS Managed service even if a disaster occurs
Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) improves the traditional backup service. Total recovery of your critical business environment in the Cloud for rapid recovery in case of a disaster. Recover your critical resources assuring business continuity.
- DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service) or BRS
- Available from both platforms: Garatu Virtual Data center and Garatu Hyper Cloud
- Several options: managed and self-managed by the client
In order to guarantee the availability of your business’ most important services, we provide DRaaS features from our secure Datacenter. We give access to the systems in the event of a disaster that affects your company. Data is replicated between production systems and the DRaaS service, either continuously or at a certain frequency, so recovery can be done with minimum impact on users´ activity.
This contingency service can work the other way around as well, using our VDC or Hyper Cloud service as the main Datacenter and hosting DRaaS at the company’s facilities.
Our Datacenter enables active-active and active-passive configurations at the highest availability.
How to implement a DRaaS – Disaster Recovery Solution
This is a real world example of one of our client’s managed DR (Disaster Recovery or BRS – Business Recovery Service) solution implemented on Garatu Cloud
The solution implements active-active fully automated DR solution for all critical applications and active-passive service for non-critical applications. An advanced monitoring solution is also implemented for availability and performance metrics monitoring and alerting. The client has full real-time access to the monitoring data.
All services in Garatu Cloud are virtual including application servers, security services (Firewall, IPS and WAF) and load balancers. The L3 MPLS connection between the two Data Centers allows for storage synchronization, database synchronization, active-active service access from load balancers and cluster data and state synchronization. All services are accessible for end users from both Data Centers, and prioritized for primary DC (client Data Center) via load balancer rules.
External access from Internet uses application level automatic redundancy for SSL VPN access and DNS level redundancy for published web resources. A multi-homed BGP would also be available for Internet access but was not considered necessary by the client after evaluating the current solution.
The managed DR solution is fully backed by SLA (Service Level Agreement) for availability, RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and service quality metrics for MPLS connectivity as well as for support and management tasks.
An annual Disaster Recovery testing is carried out to verify all services and to detect possible improvements.
The managed support and administration services follow Grupo Garatu ITIL implementation and a continuous relationship is maintained with our client. Monthly service reports are delivered and reviewed for possible corrective actions and service improvement.
This service is also an example of an ITaaS (IT as a Service) contract where Grupo Garatu manages all of the client’s IT services, both in the client’s premises and in Garatu Cloud.
